Recently, I got an email regarding to "Teach me English in ASL" under the company of ASLMedia and it is known as ASLE. Being Deaf, of course I was curious and bit nosy, so I look up the site provided in the email. After while I start to come up with several questions and couldn't find any answer on the site itself, that bring me to the point is this other scheme to get money from Deaf? Since Deafies are usually gullible and easily convincing to purchasing something that they don't really need. The questions that I had was...
- -Who was the guy explaining the "English"?
- -What is his credibility? Does he have college education? If so what field?
- -Where all the money go after purchasing the material?
- -Why is there no subtitle or is there "menu" to select subtitle? (equal accesses right)
If you have personal experience or any knowledge about that, I'd love to hear so please share.
Contemplating,
Meg
The main question I have is how in the world did ASLE.tv get my email address?
ReplyDeleteI'd have to agree with you about the sample videos. I also did not like the way the man leaned over the table. Did not come across as professional. It also would be nice if the guy revealed who he really is and why he felt qualified to teach deaf people English.
I will have to admit the concept behind the ASLE is pretty smart since I know of many deaf people who needs refresher courses in English; however, the presentations and the credibility are less than desirable.
To tell you that ASLE.TV has changed my life big time because none of them can help me understand English until I got this program and it helped me out a lot!
ReplyDeleteIf you wanted to know who or how or where? It doesn't matter because I am typing to you now. If there wasn't any ASLE.TV then I would type like this...( Me finish work now me home must eat fast later watch tv.) ... So tell me do you really actually understand this sentence if I didn't learn how to write or read in English?
I am sure you got my point.

Something to think about. I have been learning English for 6 years.
